About Naqqash Kazmi
Naqqash Kazmi Is a Pakistani, Urdu poet, philosopher, biographer and scholar. His real name is Syed Hasbi-ullah Kazmi. ‘Naqqash’ is his pseudonym (takhallus). He has studied literature, political science, linguistics, law and anthropology. He acquired knowledge of scientific and Marxist criticism in which international progressive literature and art have amalgamated with realistic and corrective approaches, thinking and activities. His synthesis of this knowledge into his poetry differentiates him from his modern contemporaries.

Arts Council Karachi paid tribute to the late poet Naqqash Kazmi at Jaun Elia Lawn, moderated by Dr. Ambreen Haseeb Amber. President Mohammad Ahmed Shah praised Kazmi’s literary service, highlighting his 17-year chairmanship. Dr. Danish Kazmi remembered his father’s teachings of respect and love, thanking Ahmed Shah and Aijaz Farooqi for support.
Rizwan Siddiqui commended Ahmed Shah for condolence references supporting artists. Dr. Fatima Hassain recalled Kazmi as a great poet and advocate for oppressed people. Rashid Noor noted Kazmi’s universal love and generosity.
