Born on July 8, 1943, in Jaunpur, pre-partition India, he migrated to Pakistan after independence. His literary journey began at S.M. Science College in 1962, leading to master’s degrees in Linguistics and Urdu Literature from the University of Karachi in 1970 and 1972, respectively. As a professional, he contributed to Pakistan Telecommunication.
